even the guy that creates art and doesn’t show it to anyone does it so that, in his own mind, he’s better than the guy whose art is on the billboard, just because he’s more indie, and doesn’t make his art ‘commercial’.

i’ve had one of the greatest weeks of my life, but something clicked tonight. life is a competition. that’s really all it is. that’s why Jesus has to stress the love thing so much. because everyone is ultimiately competing with one another, so there’s not much time for that sort of thing. loving someone is really just a nice way to step on their toes.

that’s what’s so sickening about the art world. because the entire art world talks about love. well, i guess i can’t say the entire art world (bros, and their ‘famous stars and straps’ hoes may not say this), but you catch my drift. when it really boils down to it, art isn’t about love. it’s about who is better than who. just like any other business. even the guy that creates art and doesn’t show it to anyone, does it because in his own mind, he’s better than the guy whose art is on the billboard, just because he’s more ‘indie’, and doesn’t make his art ‘commercial’. And vice versa.

am i wrong?

probably.

but i can’t deny the fact that i’m discouraged.

even though i’ve known it in my head all along.

i don’t want to be indie. or commercial.

i don’t know.

love.
