i would heal them.

don’t you love when you read something in scripture (if you do, in fact, read scripture) and you start thinking of people you know who seem to embody the flaw that you’re reading about, and then God just smacks you and lovingly says, “hey jackhole, i’m talking to YOU”?

that just happened to me.

“go to this people, and say,
you will indeed hear, but never
understand
you will indeed see, but never
percieve.
for this people’s heart has grown dull,
and with their ears they can barely
hear
and their eyes they have closed;
lest they should see with their eyes
and hear with their ears
and understand with their heart
and turn, and i would heal them.

therefore let it be known to you that this salvation of God has been sent to the gentiles;
they will listen.”

acts 28:26-28

i love the last three [3] words. there’s so much confidence in them.

because the poetry, before the last few lines, points in the complete opposite direction. but then luke (well, God, i guess) turns it back around and gives it hope.

they. will. listen.

i am they.i guess.

  1. Yes, very much a big yes to your first question. All the time.

    It’s good to listen.
